Therapy for Teens
The teen years can be intense. School pressure, social dynamics, identity development, and family expectations can all collide at once. Many teens feel overwhelmed but struggle to talk about what’s going on.
Teens often come to therapy with me when they are experiencing:
• anxiety or constant worry
• school stress or perfectionism
• big emotional reactions they don’t know how to manage
• friendship struggles or feeling left out
• identity questions related to race, gender, or sexuality
With teens, therapy often focuses on building emotional awareness, developing coping skills, and creating a space where they can talk openly without fear of judgment. I aim to provide a calm, steady environment where teens can sort through what they’re feeling and begin to trust their own voice.
When working with teens, I collaborate with parents in ways that support the teen’s growth while still respecting their privacy in therapy.
